Questions From Mortgage Lenders
It may seem to you like mortgage lenders are picky people. This may be true, but they just want to make sure that they give the lowest interest mortgages to people who can truly use them and not abuse them. The following are some of the question you might hear from lenders and the reasons they may ask you. It is important that you have solid answers for them.

"Do You Have a Job?"
This may seem like an insulting question, but it is valid. If you have a steady job then they will know you will be able to pay them their money on time all the time. You are using their service so it is important that you have the means to pay them back. It is important that you show them as much evidence as you can that you not only have a job, but it is a good one.
"Do You Have Other Debts?"
Mortgage lenders will ask you this because they want to know about how debt is working in your life. If you have a lot of debt and that has come from forgetting to make payments on time then they will be hesitant to add onto that burden. They may shy away from lending you money. This is why it is so important to keep debt out of your life, or eliminate it quickly.
"How Will You Work the Down Payment?"
This is one of the most important things to a lender. If you have a down payment that is substantial then they will be more willing to hand over their lowest interest mortgages. If you have a weak down payment then that will not reflect well on you, and they may shy away from giving you the best deal possible. Show them that your down payment is something to be respected.
"How Will You Use the House?"
They also want to know how you will use the house. Will you be living in it or will it be rented out? If you are not staying in the house, but renting it, then they will still want to make sure they get the money on time. Be honest with them and do not hide your real reasons for wanting to use the house. Learn if it's time to sell a home on following page.
